THERE GOES MY BOWTIE WITH THE STORM
Riding in a fierce storm, on thunderbolt and on a large piece of obsidian are IANSĂ the goddess of the winds and storms, TEMPESTAS, the goddess of lighting and TEZCATLIPOCA, the smoking mirror. Their forces have blown off the roof of the grand opera house during a performance. They have a few things to say before journeying on.
INSPIRATION
My ethnographic interests range from intersections in theatre performances and transcendent performances such as Bori, Candomblé and Sufi practices as well as theatricalities they possess, to mythology and oral performances in West African, South American and Native American cultures. With this play, I experiment with bringing together, deities from ancient Yoruba, Roman and Aztec cosmologies who share somewhat similar interests.
